EVENT OVERVIEW

  • What is BSA Summer Camp? Summer camp is what many Scouts enjoy most about Scouting and is core to the Scouters path, where Scouts can knock out several cool Merit Badges, advancement requirements, and bond in the woods on the Chesapeake Bay with his Troop buddies. The BSA summer camps are organized, structured week-long camps attended by more than a dozen Scouts BSA Troops. The camps offer a variety of fun and exciting programs, such as climbing, biking, disc golf, boating, swimming, canoeing, shooting sports, etc. Scouts can select from dozens of merit badge options and earn up to a half dozen merit badges for the most motivated Scouts.
  • What is Rodney Scout Reservation’s (RSR) Camping Program? Well known for the strongest program, best facilities and premier location on the Chesapeake Bay, Rodney Scout Reservation excels in delivering life-changing lessons and memories to their campers. Camp Rodney has proven itself to be our favorite summer camp by being extremely well-run and offering lots of fun activities.
  • Brownsea First Year Camper Program for New Scouts. Featured in Scouting Magazine, this program is designed to give a new Scout and newly crossed over Webelos Scout the basic camping skills he needs and will include many requirements for rank advancement for Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class. In addition, the first year camper will visit and participate in most program areas in camp. There are merit badge opportunities in Swimming MB and Nature MB as well as Totin Chip, Firem n Chit and Leave No Trace.
  • Parents Can Also Attend! And have a great time! Parents can help administrate, manage and hang out with the Scouts. There s no air conditioning, but a week in the woods with decent food and nice people for just $150 is a pretty fair deal. 2 unit leaders will attend for free, so participating adults can discuss how to share costs after Scout final payments are collected. Camp Rodney offers adult scout training and many of the Rodney Specials are open to adults as well.
